Santa Maria Maggiore
Santa Maria Maggiore
Colosseo
The Colosseum stands in the valley between the hills, but this stop focuses on the Caelian Hill (Celio). This ancient hill offers a unique elevated perspective of the Flavian Amphitheatre and houses hidden gems like the Villa Celimontana.
Aventino e Il Giardino degli Aranci
Perched on the Aventine Hill, the southernmost of the seven, this "Orange Garden" is Rome's most romantic spot. It offers a fragrant terrace and the famous Keyhole view, representing the more elegant and quiet side of ancient Rome.
Circo Massimo e il Palatino
The Palatine Hill is the most famous of the seven, where Romulus founded Rome. Driving along its base at the Circus Maximus, you can admire the massive ruins of Imperial palaces that still dominate the city's skyline today.
Gianicolo
The Janiculum is not one of the original seven hills, but it is the most spectacular "modern" hill of Rome. Located across the Tiber, it provides a breathtaking 360-degree panorama of the entire historic center and its many domes.
Acqua Paola
Still on the Janiculum Hill, this monumental 17th-century fountain is locally known as "Il Fontanone." Its white marble and roaring cascades were built to celebrate an ancient aqueduct, creating a perfect cinematic backdrop for a Fiat 500.
Trastevere e Isola Tiberina
This area lies in the valley along the Tiber River. Trastevere is a vibrant medieval neighborhood, while the Tiber Island is the ancient bridge-head between the city and the hills across the water.
Terme di Caracalla
Located in the valley between the Caelian and the Aventine Hill (specifically the "Piccolo Aventino"), these massive Roman baths are among the best-preserved examples of ancient imperial luxury and engineering.
San Giovanni In Laterano
The "Cathedral of Rome" stands on the Caelian Hill. As the oldest and highest-ranking of the four Papal Basilicas, it served as the residence of Popes for centuries and represents a pillar of Roman history.
Basilica di Santa Croce in Gerusalemme
Situated at the edge of the Esquiline Hill, this church is one of the Seven Pilgrim Churches of Rome. It houses precious relics of the Passion of Christ brought from the Holy Land, offering a spiritual atmosphere.
